Family Workshop: Build a Home for Earthworms in Clay

We shape clay houses that earthworms can live in when they are later buried in the ground and used for compost. Earthworms are the superheroes of the soil – they make it soft and full of life, helping plants grow and animals thrive. Together we’ll create good homes for them!

The workshop is inspired by Habitat 25, part of the Age of Nature exhibition. The work is created by architects Helene Søndergaard Jensen and Kathrine Andersen Mølby, who will also lead parts of the workshop.

Meet an Architect

On World Architecture Day, you can experience DAC’s permanent exhibition So Danish! – completely free and from a new, personal perspective. In a series of short guided tours (about 20 minutes), members of the Danish Association of Architects will guide you through the exhibition, focusing on their personal favorites and perspectives on architecture, as well as sharing insights from their own work as architects.

This gives you a different entry point into architectural history – with an experienced architect by your side.

Guided Tours in Age of Nature

DAC’s dedicated exhibition hosts will guide visitors through the brand-new Age of Nature exhibition. Tours in Danish at 13:00 and 15:00. Tour in English at 14:00.

The exhibition highlights that Denmark is one of the most cultivated countries in the world, with only 0.7% wild nature left. At the same time, the demand for space for green energy, urban development, and climate infrastructure continues to grow. Explore how architecture can help create a future where both people and nature can thrive.

MorgenDAC in the Afternoon

In collaboration with CAFx, we host a special afternoon edition of MorgenDAC (In Danish) titled: Is It Our Broken Relationship With Nature That Makes Us So Bad at Taking Care of it?

Guests include Cecilie Rubow, anthropologist and author of Indendørsmenneskets Natur, and Alexander Holm, biologist and podcast host of Den Dyriske Time. DAC’s Lars Fjendbo Møller will moderate the conversation, which begins with this premise: Nature is suffering. The biodiversity crisis, fueled by the climate crisis and pollution, is caused by us humans living and consuming the Earth. We are destroying the very foundation of our own lives. But why do we let it happen?

Exhibition Opening

How can we create space for both people and nature in a changing world? That’s the theme of Age of Nature, which opens on World Architecture Day. Speakers at the opening include Maria Reumert Gjerding from the Danish Society for Nature Conservation and DAC’s CEO, Kent Martinussen.

Facts About World Architecture Day

World Architecture Day was founded in the mid-1980s by the international architects’ association UIA (Union Internationale des Architectes). The idea was clear: architecture affects everyone, and there should be an annual occasion where the profession opens itself to the public. Today, the day is a well-established tradition in many countries, including Denmark.
