Educatorium

In Educatorium’s magical world of architecture, the architect’s toolbox is open for all children and young people. You can visit with your school during the day or come with your family in the afternoons and on weekends.

The skate park, the school, the garbage shed, and the skyscraper – architecture is everywhere. Yet, even though we are constantly surrounded by it, most people don’t necessarily think about it in their daily lives. But architecture is far more than just concrete, steel, glass, and bricks that give us shelter from rain, shade from the sun, and warmth when it’s cold. And architecture doesn’t have to be complicated or “just for adults.”

Our Educatorium is an educational, playful, creative, and inspiring universe, designed to open the eyes of the next generation to the impact architecture and planning have on the way we live today – and how architecture can help shape the way we will live in the future.

See, feel, listen, and play

In Educatorium, you can experience firsthand what happens when architecture is, for example, “out of scale.” Engage your senses, get inspired by architectural drawings and models, and try your hand at drawing, building, and designing.

Educatorium is a hands-on workshop built around a single wall. On one side is the Wonder Wall, full of small spaces, hidden surprises, doors, and peek-holes to explore. Here, you can discover the material library and experience architecture and urban planning with your senses – for example, see the city from above and below.

The other side of the wall is the Wall of Fame, displaying models and projects created by architecture studios as well as by visitors themselves.
